This project is owner by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is located in Girard Township, Erie County.
This project is the second phase of the I-90 reconstruction plan. The job was awarded to Lindy Paving who subcontracted Mekis to do the structure work on the project. The work includes three bridge replacements, two arch installations, and three box culvert rehabilitations along the 7 mile project. All three bridges were existing four-span structures being replaced by two-span prestressed concrete bulb tee beam structures. The arches carry a township road and a walking trail under I-90. Other aspects of the project include 2 roundabouts, nearly 110,000 cubic yards of dirt work, Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Slope Walls, over 8,000 feet of pipe piling, and over 14,000 feet of drainage. Additionally, each of the three bridges get overlaid with PPC, totaling just under 2800 square yards.
This project is expected to be completed in November of 2023.
