Currently seeking qualified labor and carpenter forepersons.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing a crew of 2-12 workers

• Working with other craft forepersons and workers to ensure smooth operation of all aspects of the project

• Reporting to the onsite project superintendent to complete tasks for the good of the project as a whole and as directed

• Having a basic understanding of the provided budget and schedule and strive to meet the goals presented

• Maintain a safe working environment and enforce all Mekis Construction policies

 

Job Requirements

• 3 Years minimum experience as a heavy highway journeyman. Previous foreperson experience is preferred

• Be a current member, or be willing to gain membership, to the local union

• Be able to read and understand project plans and drawings

• Possess the skills needed to manage a crew of varying size and ability

• Have excellent time management capabilities and understand how to prioritize work, as needed per project

• Be willing to travel, as needed, based on job location and needs

• Have a comprehensive knowledge of work associated with the Heavy/Highway trade including concrete operations, excavation, rebar, traffic control, and other relevant tasks.
